This painting portrays the timeless story of Lord Krishna serenading Radha with his flute, symbolising divine love and devotion. Rendered in vibrant pink and red hues, it reflects the deep artistic and spiritual heritage of Madhubani art from Mithila, Bihar. Traditionally, such paintings were crafted on the walls of newlywed rooms, bestowing blessings of harmony, love, and prosperity—a sentiment that makes this piece a thoughtful and meaningful gift for couples or weddings.
Created on handmade paper treated with a mixture of cow dung, neem juice, and Multani Mitti for durability and purity, this artwork embodies sustainability and tradition. The vibrant colours, derived from natural pigments made from flowers and Gond (tree resin), ensure an eco-conscious appeal. Three artisans collaborate to bring each piece to life: one sketches the design, another adds intricate linework using the Kachni technique, and the third fills the colours with the Bharni style.
Available in Regular (11 x 15 inches) and Large (15 x 22 inches), this painting is part of the Tales of Mithila collection, which also features When Shiva Met Parvati and When Rama Met Sita—each narrating a unique love story.
Please note: As our products are handmade in small batches, slight variations from the photos and minor imperfections are natural, adding to their unique charm and character.
